Crispy Tofu Fries

Ingredients


For the Tofu -

  • 1 block of firm/extra-firm tofu

  • 1/3 cup nutritional yeast

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp rosemary

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • pinch of salt


 For the Creamy Cashew Dipping Sauce-

  •  1 cup cashews, soaked for 10 mins

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast (optional, for a cheesy flavor)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Recipe

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) or the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the tofu by cutting it into slices; no need to press it as the moisture is good for this recipe.

  3. In a bowl, mix together the nutritional yeast, garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, and a pinch of salt.

  4. Toss the tofu slices into the seasoning mixture until evenly coated.

  5. Place the seasoned tofu slices in the air fryer basket or on a baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.

  6. Air fry for 12 minutes or bake in the oven for 18 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  7. Prepare the Creamy Cashew Dipping Sauce. In a blender, combine all the above ingredients for the dipping sauce. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  8. Serve in a wrap, on a salad, or munch on them solo. Enjoy!!
